Location and Directions

No matter where you live, Second Home Pet Resort is the destination resort for your beloved pet! Our clientele come from all over the Valley, because they know their pet's vacation destination should be as special as their own.

We are located in North Phoenix at the base of the North Mountain Preserve, on the southeast corner of 7th Street and Thunderbird Road. Our resort backs to the golf course and mountains; we’re located directly behind the Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market and Walgreen’s drugstore.

From Central Phoenix
Take 7th Street North, pass Dunlap Avenue, and continue for 2.8 miles. You’ll pass the Pointe Tapatio resort on your right; as you approach the intersection of 7th Street and Thunderbird Road, turn into the Walgreen’s entrance on your right (the southeast corner of the intersection). Second Home Pet Resort is located directly behind Walgreen’s, at the base of the mountain preserve.

From Paradise Valley
You’re just 10 minutes away! From the intersection of Tatum and Shea, drive North on Tatum Blvd. for approximately 1 mile. Turn West on Cactus and drive 5 miles. As you cross Cave Creek Road, the street name changes from “Cactus” to “Thunderbird”. Approaching the intersection of 7th Street and Thunderbird, turn into the McDonald’s entrance on your left (the southeast corner of the intersection). Second Home Pet Resort is located directly behind McDonald’s, at the base of the mountain preserve.

From Scottsdale
From the intersection of Cactus and Scottsdale Road, you’re less than 15 minutes away from your pet’s favorite destination resort! Drive West on Cactus, and you’ll be at our resort after a short 8.8 mile drive. Along the way you’ll cross over SR-51, and then Cave Creek Road. At this point, the street name changes from “Cactus” to “Thunderbird”. As you approach the intersection of 7th Street and Thunderbird, turn into the McDonald’s entrance on your left (the southeast corner of the intersection). Second Home Pet Resort is located directly behind McDonald’s, at the base of the mountain preserve.

From Northeast Phoenix
From the intersection of SR-51 and Loop 101, take SR-51 South, to the Cactus (NOT Thunderbird – it dead-ends at the mountain here!) exit. Drive West on Cactus for exactly 3.5 miles. As you approach the intersection of 7th Street and Thunderbird, turn into the McDonald’s entrance on your left (the southeast corner of the intersection). Second Home Pet Resort is located directly behind McDonald’s, at the base of the mountain preserve.

From Glendale or Northwest Phoenix
From the intersection of I-17 and Thunderbird Road, head East on Thunderbird for exactly 3 miles. Pass through the 7th Street intersection and immediately turn right into the McDonald’s entrance on your right. Second Home Pet Resort is located directly behind McDonald’s, at the base of the mountain preserve.
